We (finally!) ventured all the way down to Carlsbad to visit Legoland yesterday, and oh my how the children loved it! We stayed until the park closed and even then Tess begged, “More Yegoyand peese, Mommy, right now!” Upon arrival our first stop was Star Wars miniland, where we immediately saw this guy and stopped for a photo: But wait, it gets better. Just a little while later,...
Grow, hair, grow!
What's In a Name?
I had to take Gabe to the pediatrician yesterday. Nothing was seriously wrong, but he had a small boo-boo that needed a doctor’s care. (In case you’re counting, that’s four pediatrician visits in four weeks. Going to the pediatrician is my new, very expensive hobby.) Gabe’s real first name is Max; we call him by his middle name of Gabriel to honor family tradition and...
We spent the weekend in Santa Barbara with family. It was outstanding.
She’s her own biggest fan. (Except for me. I am her actual biggest fan.)
For VDay, Matt got these pictures of the kids: The process of taking these pictures was hilarious. I repeatedly asked Tessa, “Why do you love Daddy?” hoping she would give me a great sound bite to use. Two year olds don’t necessarily understand open-ended questions though, and every time I asked she would stare at me with this quizzical look on her face, then say,...
Happy Valentine's Day!
With love from Gabe and Tess, your favorite super hero valentine people.
For your Thursday entertainment, we present Anakin (aka Gabe) wearing his Star Wars Lego pajamas and Jedi shoes, brandishing his favorite blue lightsaber, and fighting off the bad guys. You know, just a standard weekday morning at our house. May The Force Be With You. Yet again.
A Note From the Editor
Thanks to my friend J for finding this cartoon; it gave me the laugh I badly needed yesterday while I was dealing with the fallout from a certain toddler having a double ear infection accompanied by a rather unpleasant reaction to her antibiotics. (All is well and she is on the mend after her second visit to the pediatrician yesterday.)
A Series of Three Self Portraits
Taken by Tess with my phone, before swimming lessons on Saturday. And one shot taken by me. Such a beautiful girl.
Ready For the Big Game!
Here’s Gabe, pre-Super Bowl yesterday. He was pretty annoyed that I was taking his picture. He’s such a goofball. School haircut day is next Tuesday. I’m not sure we’re going to make it. Look at that mop top!
Some laughs to get your Friday off to a good start. :) (Note that my Friday is not off to a good start because a certain someone whose name starts with G and ends with ABE got up at 4:00 a.m. That is an unholy hour, my friends. I have a headache like someone hit me in the face with a 2x4.)
Now, here is the long-awaited footage from Saturday’s first swimming lesson! HUGE success. (For reference, Gabe cried through his first three lessons, despite the fact that Zoie is probably the kindest, most patient swim instructor in the whole entire world.) When the lesson ended, Tess asked Zoie for “More kicks and paddles! Don’t wanna get out!”
