I’m not sure math has ever amused me this much in my entire life. (Also, should I be embarrassed that my four-year-old is better at addition than I am?)
Until this morning I had no idea Tess could do a somersault. These children are very surprising sometimes.
Electric
We arrived home yesterday afternoon to discover that the power was out in half our house. It was quite fascinating - most of the kitchen appliances were on, but the lights were out. Tess’ room had power but Gabe’s did not. Exactly half the lights worked in our master bedroom.
It turns out a transformer blew out in our neighborhood and managed to fry some of our circuits when it...

Purple
Today is National Wear Purple for Peace Day. Tess and Gabe are ALL IN. Also, Gabe would like you to know that “Peace Day” means, “No fighting or calling names or making faces at your friends.” So everyone behave, please.
Do you think she’ll pledge SAE or Phi Delt?

Chaos (but in a good way)

Well Child (Very Well Indeed)
Gabe’s well-child visit to the pediatrician was fantastic. I’m sure that sounds ridiculous, but it’s true, and I loved it. Four Years Old! Party Time!
I had to take the dog out twice in the middle of the night last night, and then my kids woke up at 5:45 this morning, so I am slightly loopy, but here are a few of the pictures from yesterday’s celebration. More coherent post coming soon. I hope.
And the good times roll on, as Gabe’s certain-to-be-chaotic birthday party with all of his friends takes place this coming...

Tess is the youngest person in her dance class by about six months. Still, I think she holds her own! Can you tell how hard she is concentrating???

I think we need one more picture of Gabe dressed...
So here you go.
He is doing the “running pose” he learned at Junior Avengers Training.
Absolutely unrelated to the above, I have a quick preschool story. Gabe has recently been spending a lot of time with M, who is a girl. On our way out of school a few days ago, M ran up to Gabe from across the play yard, gave him a big hug and a wet smoochy kiss on the cheek, then ran away...
