One Curl
Tessa has one perfect curl that hangs down her back, longer than the rest of her hair.
She is so beautiful.

Mr. Dahl
I just ordered this poster for the children’s playroom. It makes me feel happy, happy, happy.
Roald Dahl is one of my all-time favorite authors, and we are starting to introduce Gabe to his books. So far we’ve read Fantastic Mr. Fox, George’s Marvelous Medicine, and we’re currently working on The BFG. Seeing my son so entranced by books I loved as a little girl is one...

Boots
For Matt’s birthday last week, the only, only, only thing Gabe wanted to get for his daddy was cowboy boots.
So we bought Matt cowboy boots. Don’t these two just look like they are ready to hit the dusty trail and round up some cattle?

Seven Years!
Seven years ago today, the great Bishop Bice officiated at our wedding. It was a not-too-hot evening in Pasadena on a beautiful green lawn, and we were surrounded by our family and friends, all the people we love. My heart was full.
It is even more so today. We have been on a great adventure these past seven years, my husband and I, and I am happy to say the adventure continues. I love...

Captain America and America Dog
A certain curly-haired baby got up at 4:45 this morning, and I have only had three cups of coffee so far, which is emphatically NOT ENOUGH. In lieu of an actual coherent post, here are some fairly low-quality pictures I took this morning with my sad bleary eyes. (I should really be a professional writer, what with all this amazing, articulate content I churn out.)
America Dog suggests you learn...

I finally convinced Gabe to “retire” his too-small Spiderman shirt with the little tiny holes in it. And then Tessa found where I’d tucked it away.
So now the G&T blog presents the Awesome Spiderman singing a song! (I can’t understand any of the words, so don’t stress if you can’t understand them either.) I did manage to get a big hairbow and her...

Christmas in August, Pirate-Style
Recently a really fun and unexpected thing happened to me, courtesy of this blog. Do you perchance remember my post about going to see Pirate Santa at the Farmers’ Market way back in December? Well, the Pirate Santa team found my post and offered to send me a copy of their brand new CD!
So, now I am like a real, official mommyblogger, doing a review of a kid-targeted item! This is...

Officially I became too big to be a baby.
I growed too fast.

(Oh, that is an understatement, my friend.)

Playdate, So Great
We had friends over for a playdate yesterday evening. The kids played Stomp Rocket and chased each other around the yard and even did some very serious digging in the garden while the grownups talked and laughed and sipped Matt’s excellent margaritas. It was a near-perfect lazy August afternoon. Here is a brief photo montage of our activities.

Romp Bomp a Stomp
My mom and I took Tessa to Romp yesterday; it’s a lovely little indoor playground near Hollywood and Highland. They have a sand room, an art room, an indoor bounce house, and a giant green slide leading into a ball pit that Tess has always been too scared to try.
Or so I thought.
She made me go down the slide with her one time as a test drive, and that was it, she loved it. I think...
For your Thursday entertainment I present the Zoo Keeper Guitar Guy. (I have been trying to upload this video for a full week; the new Tumblr iPhone app will not let me. WHY DO YOU HATE ME, TUMBLR IPHONE APP? Don’t you understand the GRANDPARENTS NEED MEDIA COVERAGE OF THEIR GRANDCHILDREN? Ugh, technology.)
